Hello All!

They say that the simple act of creating art does not make one an artist. A true artist ENJOYS the process of creating art. I AM an artist....always have been. Within each brush stroke, each splash of color, each stitch or word is a small piece of me. I've struggled in life and endured some truly difficult times, but I've embraced the bad and turned it around so that I can make a difference for others. But that's a topic for another day. My artwork gives my soul a voice, which tells the story of my life. Sounds cheesy, huh? But it really is true.

It's difficult for me to fit what I do into any one category. I enjoy anything creative..... painting, drawing, coloring, doodling, sewing, card making/paper crafts, designing and making jewelry, art journaling, book binding, interior design, carpentry (still an amateur), writing, designing stamps and stencils (wow......I could totally keep going!). Basically, I love making things with my hands (I know.....I've made that pretty obvious, huh?). :) I experience true joy when I'm creating something. Mixed media appeals to me because the possibilities are limitless and I find more creative freedom when I am not bound by the supplies I use.

I've recently gotten into illustration. Specifically, inking and coloring children's books. I'm quite pleased with my progress over such as short period of time. So much so that I've started designing my own characters and wrtiting. My goal is to complete an entire book by the end of the 2016. I want my characters to be a little rough around the edges. I mean really....who wouldn't fall in love with a princess rocking a mohawk? More important, however, I want my characters to have, well.....character. Integrity, depth, substance. I'm excited to see where this leads. Hopefully, you'll be around too. :)

I appreciate that you've taken the time to check out what I have here. I hope you'll continue to take this journey with me. I've provided links to my social media sites and as you can see above, I've added a link to a contact page. Feel free to leave a comment, ask questions, or just say "Hi."

Thx!
